Baptism is the way the Church includes people into the household of God wherein we are "sealed by the Holy Spirt and marked as Christ's own forever."

St. David's follows the discipline of The Book of Common Prayer which provides for baptism on 5 important occasions during the year: The Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (early January), The Great Vigil of Easter (Saturday before Easter Day), the Feast of Pentecost (50 days after Easter) and All Saints' (Sunday closest to November 1.) and the day of the Bishop's visitation. In every case Baptism takes place at a regularly scheduled Liturgy of the Church on a Sunday or Holy Day.

Normally baptism is limited to persons whose sponsors are practicing the christian faith by regular attendance at worship and support of the local parish with their time, treasure and talent. The same standard applies to those adults who seek baptism plus the privilege of instruction in the faith by one of the parish teachers.

An application for Baptism is available here.

Please bring the application to the parish office when you schedule the time for baptism with the parish clergy.

There is always an interview during which you and your sponsors receive instruction in the Rite of Baptism and its prvileges and responsibilities.
